I am April Wireman, Knoxvillian, artist virtuoso, wife and best friend to my college sweetheart, Ron (runner- "Ron"ner), mommy to Veronica (age 4, mini me, art enthusiast), Child of God, daughter, sister, friend, homeschool art teacher by day and 24/7 artist.
After graduating art college, I have been busy working various freelance jobs to fulfill my childhood dream of being an artist. I live out the starving artist stereotype, only it’s not a stereotype, it’s reality!
I created Take heART (the "h" in heART stands for homeschool and the "e" in heART for enrichment) as a homeschool art blog. Shortly after coming up with the name heART I added "Take" in there. I was reading my Bible one day when I felt led to look up take heart. I didn't think I would find anything but I did! "Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord. -Psalm 31:24 Which was God putting words into how I should approach the blog- Be STRONG! With the nudge of a few friends and the Word of God I sucked up my fear of writing as it's not a strong suit and jumped in.
A little about me: There is nothing better than... Spending time with my friends and family, iced mocha coffee from Dunkin Donuts (&blueberry donuts or coffee crumb muffins), new art supplies to organize, walking the aisles of any craft store dreaming about winning the whole store, wearing boots and scarves in the fall, strawberry cheesecake and broccoli casserole (not together), spring flowers, snuggling with my cats, teaching my little one about art and driving with the windows rolled down and the radio turned up!
I hope you enjoy my creative ideas more than my writing! It’s not my forte’.
